Submit an Abstract for the SETAC Europe 24th LCA Symposium

The SETAC Europe 24th LCA Symposium will be held from 24–26 September in Vienna, Austria. Despite the slight change to the name of the conference series – you might have noticed that the term “case study” is omitted – this event focuses on case studies and the application of life cycle assessment (LCA).

This year’s theme addresses “Food, Fibre, Feed, Fertiliser, Fuel and Other Resources: The Role of LCA in Shaping the Future.”

With this event, we discuss the highly relevant topic of resources, including agricultural production systems, circular economy, waste, infrastructure, mobility, energy and much more. The theme covers all resources, renewable and non renewable. In addition, we will showcase Ph.D. projects and discuss labeling and footprinting, as well as the topic of software, tools and databases.

The “BOKU-LCA Plattform,” a forum within BOKU University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences that aims at bringing together researchers from across BOKU University involved or interested in LCA, is the local organizer and will host the symposium. This year’s theme is core to BOKU’s mission as a teaching and research center for renewable resources, which are necessary for human life. It is BOKU's objective to help make a contribution to the conservation and protection of resources for future generations by providing diversity in its fields of study.

By hosting this SETAC conference series in Vienna, we hope to bring together researchers, practitioners, policy makers and experts from academia, business, governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as Ph.D. students from across Europe. By providing an interesting program of sessions and breaks for networking, combined with Austrian hospitality and cuisine, we hope to stimulate engaged discussions between attendees.

Abstract submission is open. Authors are invited to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation by 11:59 p.m. CET on Wednesday, 13 June.
