Jana Asselman, Emma Deniere, Josef Koch and Francis Van Ryckeghem, Ghent University; Lucia Vergauwen, University of Antwerp; and Anne-Sophie Voisin, University of Namur

First Basel, then Barcelona and Nantes, and now Brussels takes on the challenge to find the best SETAC Science Slammer.

Are you up for the challenge? Then submit your video now!

If you want to share your passion for science with the SETAC audience, then join us on stage during the SETAC Europe 27th Annual Meeting, which will be held from 7–11 May in Brussels, Belgium. The goal of the science slam is to present your research in a fun and entertaining way, while competing with six finalists. Forget about introductions, results and discussion, and instead focus on your audience. They will vote to name the SETAC Europe Science Slammer of the Year. Can you captivate them and steal their hearts?

Luckily for all the passionate professors and career professionals thinking about submitting, you don’t need to be a student to participate! So this is your chance to shine.

There are only four important rules; no word limits, no templates and no need for co-authors:

  1. Apply: Anyone can apply.
  2. Submit: Submit a 2-minute video clip demonstrating your topic and message presentation.
  3. Remember: Anything goes (slides, songs, sketches, etc.) as long as you present your own research.
  4. Compete: The science slam organizers will select the best six submissions, based on content and originality, to compete live on stage for the title and glory. Submission deadline is 1 March.

Furthermore, the selected science slammers for Brussels will get a free registration for SETAC Brussels and 400 Euros to cover travel and accommodation expenses. The SETAC Europe Science Slam 2017 will take place on 9 May.

Complete the online form and submit your video to by 1 March.
