SETAC Square Activities

SETAC SquareCentrally located in the Mezzanine, the SETAC Square offers a convenient place to meet, exchange ideas and learn more about what is happening in SETAC.

Advisory groups, committees and representatives of the SETAC Europe branches will be available to meet with attendees and address questions throughout the week. This is also a great way to meet the student advisory councils (Monday) and the presidents of all five geographic units (Thursday). The Square offers a perfect opportunity to learn how the activities of SETAC committees and advisory groups, together with the regional programming, come togehter at the geographic unit level and collectively make for a very active and exciting society. At past meetings, the Square has been a welcoming spot for attendees to meet and exchange ideas on topics important to them.

CRA logoAnyone interested in the SETAC Europe Certification of Environmental Risk Assessors can join CRA representatives in the Square on Monday, 23 May, and Tuesday, 24 May, to ask their questions. Representatives will be able to assist attendees with enrollment. The CRA program is established to provide an internationally recognized standard for environmental risk assessors. It offers a range of courses for students and professionals to obtain the level of education and expertise to fulfill the requirements for SETAC Europe Certified Environmental Risk Assessor.

Reddit logoSETAC is still looking for volunteers from academia, business and government sectors to help answer questions from around the world on environmental toxicology and chemistry for the Reddit Ask Me Anything, happening all afternoon on Tuesday, 24 May. Further activities in the SETAC Square include a series of rapid-fire publishing sessions during the afternoon coffee breaks. Editors from the SETAC journals, Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (ET&C) and Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management (IEAM), will host a ten-minute session on Monday, 23 May, and Wednesday, 25 May. Jen Lynch, SETAC Publications Manager, will host a search engine optimization session for authors on Tuesday, 24 May, and will offer tips for promoting your research on Wednesday, 25 May.
