SETAC Europe 20th LCA Case Study Symposium

Cynthia Stahl and Emma Lavoie, SETAC North America Science Committee

The SETAC Europe 20th Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) Case Study Symposium, a key international scientific event for LCA, provides the opportunity for researchers, business experts and policymakers from all over the world to gather in a unique environment to exchange scientific ideas and experiences and discuss new developments.

This year, the LCA Case Study Symposium will take place from 24–26 November in Novi Sad, Serbia. Novi Sad is the administrative, economic, cultural, educational and touristic center of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. It is the second largest city in Serbia, founded in 1694 and located in the southern part of Pannonian Plain on the banks of the Danube river, facing the northern slopes of the Fruška Gora Mountains. Getting there is pretty easy with regular bus service from Belgrado airport to Novi Sad.

The symposium's main theme is “LCA in Promoting Eco-Innovation and Sustainability: Education, Research and Application,” and its main purpose is to develop an intensive discussion on how LCA can contribute to innovation and enhance the (re)design of new and existing products and services by respecting eco-design principles. This will contribute to sustainable development through improved environmental performances. The discussion should comprise educational, research and industrial aspects.

Abstract submission will remain open until 15 September at the symposium website,

SETAC members and non-members are all welcome at this event. On behalf of the organizers, we are looking forward to meeting you in Novi Sad!
