Last Call for Nominations: Globe Editor-in-Chief

SETAC Publications Advisory Committee

This is the last call for nominations for the next editor-in-chief of the SETAC Globe. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual to actively learn about, promote, participate in and get to know the people behind the diverse activities of SETAC around the world.

The editor-in-chief is responsible for the quality, content and style of the SETAC Globe, working within the framework of the Globe policies established by the SETAC Publications Advisory Committee (PAC), on which he or she will serve. SETAC's communications, publications, information technology, scientific affairs and executive staff support the editor-in-chief by providing support for the production and distribution of the Globe as well as assisting with global contacts and providing occasional content.

SETAC is seeking an individual who is able to coordinate effectively with SETAC members worldwide, capture the research and collaboration happening across SETAC, maintain high editorial standards without compromising personal style and voice, lead an editorial and production team, and ensure that strict deadlines are consistently met. The successful candidate will be passionate and creative about effectively promoting the full spectrum of SETAC's diverse activities around the globe.

Interested candidates should submit a short statement of interest to Questions about the position may be directed to the current editor-in-chief using the same email address. The solicitation will close 31 August. The PAC will review submittals and select finalists in September. Phone interviews with finalists will be conducted as needed in October. The PAC intends to select the new Globe editor-in-chief prior to the SETAC Vancouver meeting in November. The new editor-in-chief will take over in December 2014 with the current editor-in-chief staying on as the immediate past editor-in-chief for a six-month transition period.
